Matt stood near the hold and watched as two cruisers pulled away from the Balboa and headed their way. Still halfway from the Eriksson, the boats went dead in the water. One of the crew waved toward them.
“Iggy,” Matt called toward their two cruisers idling next to the ship with their bow lines still attached. He saw the red-haired man salute him that he understood. The lines were taken in and the cruisers pulled away, headed toward the two boats waiting on the water.
Jada had worked to ensure that their own cruisers could communicate with those from the Balboa. Matt had instructed her to make sure it was understood that Iggy would be the expedition leader. Jada said the officer she had spoken with seemed to understand. Their main function was to secure the island, but they should investigate the coastline area for resources and confirm its safety.
Matt looked out over the water toward the Abdallah. Several of the watchmen were staring their way, probably with binoculars trained on the scene. He was positive they were wondering what was happening, especially when the four cruisers headed out to the east, away from all of the ships.
Matt sighed. He hoped Omar didn’t over-react to the obvious cooperation between the Eriksson and the Balboa.
